Shark Week!

This week is Shark week and the kids are very excited. We have had them already make paper plate sharks and edible shark slime. This week is going to be filled with a lot of fun activities, art, songs, and crafts. Here one some fun shark inspired recipes for your little ones:


Shark Snack Cups

Ingredients



  • 1 tub 8 oz. COOL WHIP Whipped Topping, thawed

  • 2 containers 6 oz. each low-fat vanilla yogurt

  • 1/4 cup boiling water

  • 1 3 oz pkg Jell-O mix

  • 1/2 cup Graham cracker crumbs

  • Individual serving cups/dishes.

  • Gummy sharks

  • Optional: Parasol picks

Instructions


  • Dissolve Jell-O into boiling water in a medium bowl.

  • Wisk in COOL WHIP and yogurt; stir until blended.

  • Spoon into individual serving cups.

  • Add a spoonful of graham cracker crumbs to one side

  • Freeze for 3 hours or until firm.

  • Remove from freezer 15 min. before serving; let stand at room temperature to soften slightly. Top with gummy sharks before serving.

Mini Chocolate Chips

Start out by cutting around the top corners of a graham cracker. Use that piece as a guide to cut the other pieces using kitchen scissors. Cut marshmallow bits in half to make teeth link this…Squeeze on the chocolate icing on the front in the shape of a mouth then press on the marshmallow teeth. Attach 2 mini chocolate chips on the top sides for the eyes. Place one cut out graham cracker on your work surface. Cut a jumbo marshmallow in half. Squeeze icing on one side & press on the graham cracker. Squeeze more frosting on top like this….Then press on the top shark face graham cracker…let dry. We also cut out little fins & attached them on the back…


Shark Attack Lunch

You make this shark lunch using bread, peanut butter, blueberry jelly, banana, 1 grape, vanilla yogurt, and gold fish crackers.

Then cut out the bread into a shark shape. Use the left over scraps for the fin. Spread peanut butter on inside and put the jelly on the outside. Cut a banana for the teeth, eyes, and fin. Cut 1 grape in half for the eye. Put 1 drop of blue food coloring in our yogurt and mixed it up. Lastly, spread that around for water and then added our gold fish crackers.
